DE SMET — With three of the top four runners, the Wessington Springs boys’ cross country team won the De Smet Invitational on Thursday.
Mitch Kraft was first for the Spartans, followed by his brother, Drew, in second and teammate Cordell Muilenburg in fourth.
Ricky Seaman of Sunshine Bible Academy was third.
Wessington Springs also had the top runner in the girls’ field on Thursday, with Mindy Kraft winning the event.
Brooke Peterson of Hitchcock-Tulare was second, just five second behind Kraft.
Ashley Gruenwald of Clark-Willow Lake and Megan Burma of Sunshine Bible were fifth and sixth, respectively.
